TIPS & TECHNIQUES – Kiss Print Stamping

Kiss Print Stamping is a technique used by stampers to create an image that combines two stamps together. The first stamp provides a base for the other stamp.

The idea is that you have one large foam stamp of a solid design (like a heart or a star etc) and one smaller stamp of a more detailed design. Just follow these easy steps and the pictures that accompany them, and you’ll see what I mean!

You Need:

Scraps of cardstock to practice on (try and get a few different textures – shiny, linen, corrugated etc)

Pigment ink (such as Ranger, Adirondack, Staz On or Versacolour)

Foam stamp(s) (such as Making Memories or Heidi Swapp)

Smaller, more detailed stamps (I have used Upsy Daisy and Fancy Pants)

Stamp cleaning stuff such as baby wipes, cleaning matt and an old mouse pad.

Step One:

Ink the larger foam stamp with a good, even covering of the pigment ink

Step Two:

Now grab your smaller stamp and press it FIRMLY into the foam stamp. The smaller stamp acts as a mask and takes off some of the ink on the foam stamp.

Step Three:

Stamp with the foam stamp onto the scrap cardstock. You should get an impression of the larger stamp with the smaller design WITHIN it.

Step Four:

Wait for the ink to dry, then cut out your design and use it in your card or scrapbooking design – looks great, doesn’t it!?!
