Well girls, I have got only one thing to say to you all:
YOU ARE A BUNCH OF ABSOLUTE LEGENDS AND YOU SHOULD ALL BE BRONZED AND GIVEN A PACK OF NEVERENDING TIM TAMS AND A JAMIE DURIE LOOK-A-LIKE TO FEED THEM TO YOU!!
Seriously, the response to this project has been humungous and incredible, to say the least. At first I was looking at putting together maybe 100 albums and I thought that might be stretching things a bit – now I think we could possibly put together over 500 albums. I mean it – and the list of helpers gets bigger by the hour!
So far I have several hundred offers of LO’s as well as albums from the wholesalers such as Aussie Scrap Source and Lulu’s as well as Mette from Melbourne who is donating a huge supply of albums – you rock! Not to mention the wonderful Scrapping stores that have come on board as collection points and who are holding Crop Nights as well as mailing me the LO’s en masse. I think you are just AWESOME. Really, you bring tears to my eyes.
If you are thinking of still contributing PLEASE DO SO as the more LO’s we receive, the more albums we can put together. There were 1069 houses lost, so that means we need 1069 albums.
I will keep updating with the count of how many albums we have and how many more we need, ok?
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO NEED SOME HELP WITH A SKETCH OR SOME SAMPLES TO LOOK AT, PLEASE SEE BELOW:
Many Many thanks to Petrina Mc Donald who provided me with this sketch and who has also put toether some samples for you to have a look at.
As you can see below, the samples need only have a space for the photos to go in, a journaling spot, a simple but effective design and some embellishment. Nothing extravagant – I would like to leave some of the embellishing up to the families getting these albums (don’t worry – we are providing them with a basic “Scrap Starter Kit” as well).
(Please click on this Gallery for a larger image to appear).
P, thankyou so much for doing this chook – you are a legend!

FOR THOSE OF YOU FROM THE U.K AND EUROPE WHO ARE CONTRIBUTING, please read below:
The drop off point for you is:
Kristin Reinhard
Postfach 47
6318 Walchwil
Switzerland.
You can send your LO’s to Kristin NO LATER than Feb 28th in order to make the plane on time. Please be aware that there is a limit to how many Kristin can bring over (due to weight), so be advised that I may have to close off the drop off point if there are too many and you will have to post as normal.
I will have Drop Off Points established soon for all Sydney Metro Regions. Please keep checking back on this Blog for more details, ok?!
Very soon I will have some photos to show you of my lounge room which has now become the “Headquarters” of this project. We are accepting LO’s and albums from overseas as well – so if you are reading this from another part of the world, please pitch in! So far we have LO’s coming in from North America, Canada, Hawaii, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Phillipines, Dubai, the Netherlands, the UK, Italy and Spain. WOOHOO!
I am planning on visiting my Post Office tomorrow (first to set up an account and second to apologise for all the extra work he’s going to have over the next month lol).
The next step in this process is to please keep getting the word out! Any of you who think we have enough support, please send us your LO’s. I would dearly love to give every displaced family at least one album – maybe more if we can manage it.
So if you would still like to contribute, please do so by leaving me a comment at the end of this post and will get back to you ASAP 🙂
Many thanks to you all for being such an awesome bunch of supporters – well done!

wow.. I don’t know what else to say……
Hi Sares,
I just wanted to pop in and say hello and express what a wonderful thing you are doing……we are only three kms for the nearest fire and at times it is a little unnerving but we have it so lucky. My thoughts will be with you and I so wish I could participate but at the moment life is crazy with helping the cause in other ways. sending all my love to you and your postie
love naomi x
i would love to make some layouts to help you out and i am more than happy to advertise your little mission on my store homepage and my blogs . If you would like to email me some details i will get cracking
cheers Eve
Just wanted to let you know I have posted info about your wonderful idea on Aussie Pub Calls I hope it helps 🙂
i just posted a link on my blog…will also send an email to my lss and see if we can get a collection point in sydney…good on you…ginny http://my5bratzcreations.blogspot.com/
Hi. I’d like to put together some layouts for this mission. Just let me know what you want me to do and I’ll get going, and spread the word to my friends.

Hi Sarah, What an absolutely brilliant idea. I would love to help out with some LOs and am trying to organise some friends for a crop day. If you could let me know details I will get on to it right away.
Proud to be an Aussie! Way to go Sarah on such a brilliant idea! Layouts are on their way mate!
Your the one girl who deserves the timtams. You have done a good thing.
cheers,
Sue.
Do you have any drop off points for the Sunshine Coast, Qld or somewhere pages/albums can be sent to?
Congrats Sarah on deciding to make a difference and running with it, you are a person who makes us all proud.
I have a scrapbooking shop in Mt Gambier, SA and I would love it if you could email me all the details so I can round up support from my district to assist. We are a community that suffered with Ash Wednesday so many locals here understand having to start with nothing and we are a very giving community. Happy to have a drop off point in my shop and to assist in any other way I can, will send out an email to my clients and mention it on my blog and encourage them to put it on their blogs as well.
Hi honey,
I will see if my group will do a night next friday night to assist you. I will do my best to get several LO’s done for you. I live about an hour from Shepparton so will make the trip when we have done the pages. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of these people, I think its a fantastic idea! We are in Seymour, not far from a couple of the big fires and we are all in shock…….its just so unbelievable what has happened. I personally know several people who are affected and am still waiting on hearing if 1 lady is okay, as yet we have had no word of her.

Hi Sarah,
I run workshops and crops from home in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide. I would be happy to be a drop off point for you and co-ordinate sending items to you.
I would love to advertise this on my blog and also to my newsletter clientele.
I will also be at the Stamping and scrapbooking fair at Morphettville on the 22nd of Feb at the Heaven-Sent stall so that could possibly be a drop of point also.
I’m in like flynn!
I would also like to advertise this on my blog too if I could as I teach at my LSS in Adelaide and we have a large client base.
Hi Sarah
Such a wonderful idea. We would be happy to be a drop off point for Perth and/or co-ordinate the posting of layouts for you.
We will put out a call to our mailing list and also on our blog – to get as many layouts as possible.

Dear Sarah
I thinkk this is such a wonderful idea and I will get busy this weekend. Just let me know where to send them. I live in Toogoolawah in south-east queensland. I will probably have to post them to you. Keep up the wonderful work
Actually, I would prefer a Hugh Jackman look-a-like please. Ok, I know you can make miracles happen!!!!!
I’ve organised the local shop here as a drop off point – the owner will email you tomorrow with details 🙂
Keep up the great work woman!!!!

Hi Sarah,
I’d love to donate some 12×12 layouts. I can drop mine off at the Shepparton shop you mentioned.
You must be a very caring person to start a project as wonderful as this – thankyou so much!
Hi Sarah,
I too will see what we can do. We are having a fundraising crop day in Shepparton on march 1st so im sure out of a whole day scrapping, we can come up with some pages for you. Im also helping to put together an album for one of consultants who lost everything in the bendigo fires. It is so tragic for so many people, Hope we can bring some sunshine back into their lives soon.
Keep up the fantastic work!!
http://www.sharynnecreates.wordpress.com
Sarah, this is such a wonderful & thoughtful idea!
I’m not a scrapper, but did take a class and made a really nicely decorated Making Memories 6″ X 6 ” Boho Chic album with about 18 pgs. + pockets & tags — all ready for adding photos.
Is this something you could use? I’d love to donate!
I could even include some extra $ towards postage if you’d like. Let me know.
I read about your fantastic idea on the Forever Always forum. I’m getting together with some girlfriends to put some LOs together and we’ll drop them off at our LSS, The Scrapbook Scene. Thanks for taking the time to organise all this Sarah.
still no reply from my lss but i put a post on my bloggie for you http://my5bratzcreations.blogspot.com/
p.s as well as the blog posted I posted a link to you on 4 o.s and 10 aussie forums that Im on so hopefully it wll send traffic your way :0)
Hi Sarah, I would love to help out with this mission. I’ll rally together some of my friends and promote it at my workshops. I’m also happy to be a drop off point for anyone in Canberra if you haven’t already got one. It’s a wonderful idea and I’m excited to be able to do something so lovely after feeling so helpless about the whole situation.
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to help out. I have some LO’s here I’d love to send. Could you email me your addy to annieledger@internode.on.net.
Your doing an awesome job!
Just contacting my LSS by mail, I hope they can also help!
Hi Sarah
I would like to contribute too. Also, could you email me please about a fundraising opportunity we are doing.
Hi Sarah
I just wanted to let you know that I will making some LO. I’m in the Bundy area so I will drop my LO off at the Creative Artz Cottage.
Thanks
shandell
I have done a couple LO’s that will be sent along with my friends (she has your address)
It is a fantastic thing you are doing.
I have added a link to my blog as well
I think this is a wonderful idea – I have a few ladies rockin up to my place tomorrow for a crop day so will be sure to ask them to include a LO for this cause. I can take the LO’s to the store in WA.
Q: Do you also want donated scrapbooking supplies as a few of us are having a big cleanout (meant to be for LSS garage sale – but would rather forget the $$$ and give the stuff to someone who has lost all their’s)
I have completed 27 layouts tonight so I will post them to you as soon as I can
If I get to ado anymore I will also send then your way
Thanks for letting us help in this way
Love
Carol (honeywine)
Hi, This is such a great idea. I would like to help and do some LO’s. Just let me know your address and i’ll send them out to you.
xxx
This is my first attempt at leaving a reply to a Blog so I hope it works (I have already lost this reply 3 times) 🙂
I learnt about this at my local Scrappin store (Petes Scrappin) and think it is fantastic. Having just launched my new business I am unfortuanetly very time poor. However, I would be honoured to donate supplies and tools for at least 2 scrappers effected by the bushfires. I feel sure that there are some that would love to be able to undertake the therapeutic process of creating their own scrapbook. Would you be able to pass these on for me with your LO’s?
Good luck in getting your target of over 1000 albums.
My love to all involved.
Hi Would like to help out
Please email address details Cheers Ant
The most BRILLIANT idea ever Sares. I’m in this like a shot. I will drop off my LOs to Embellished. Photos are such an important part of our lives and I know that these albums are going to mean the world to those families who have lost so much.
Hiya Sarah, just updating you. I have done 6 and half LO’s so far, hoping to do 10 and send them off by Thursday/Friday. This is a wonderful idea and thank you for helping us to get involved… xxxoooxxx
Hi Sarah this is such a wonderful idea! And what a fantastic response you are getting. I am an Aussie living in Switzerland and will be making as many layouts from my stash to bring with me home when I come back early March for a holiday. If you need a contact in central Europe than I will be more than willing to help out, and bring as many layouts that i can back to Australia. I will be leaving here on the 7th March so just enough time to get scrapping. Your a star!
Kristin
I would love to help you, if it´s possible. The fires in Australia has been bigs news here in Sweden as well, and the least I can do is to help the families starting new memories. Pleas send me an E-mail at jessicabergs@bredband.net with an adress I can send regular post, and I´ll do my best to gather a number of LO´s and send to you.
You´re my hero doing this for the families.
Jessica
Can you email me your address so we can post them to you!
I’m going to see if our Mops group of ladies want to also get involved! Thanks Josie
Hi Sarah,
What a fabulous idea…….I’ll put up a post on the Aus/NZ Fiskars Craft Blog today…….living in the YARRA VALLEY…..I have seen first hand the devastation and heart break that these fires have caused…..
I’m sure that some of our Blog readers would love to help with your project.
Thank you so much for doing this……so many people want to help but they just don’t know how…..and crafters all have that way of helping when times are tough….you rock girl!!

Hi Sarah,
Count me in for a couple.of LO’s….I am so glad you were able to action something that I too had considered (along with every other scrapper, I am sure), but was too overwhelmed. I have been volunteering down at a donations collections point, and it is sad, humbleing and very gratifiying all rolled into one, to be able to assist in a tangible way.
Sarah, job well done. I am donating 6 albums which we hope to fill with layouts within the next 2 weeks. I have emailed my database and the response has been fantastic. Please let me know where to send the albums and layouts when completed. I also offer our store as a drop off for country (or city) SA.

We will also be at the SA Stamping and Scrapbooking Fair this weekend, if anyone wants to donate or drop off layouts.
Keep up the good work,

Hi Sarah, was just wondering how things are going? We are set here in Seymour to have our scrap night this friday night, 20th Feb 2009 for doing our LO’s for the albums to be donated to the fire survivors. I am hoping to be able to send at least 30 LO’s. This has so touched a cord in our hearts and it makes me really aware of our crafts, how special they are and the invisiable ties that join all of us scrapbookers, stampers & papercrafters together at times like this. God bless you and everyone who is donating to such a worthy cause.

This is a wonderful idea, Sarah and I am so excited by the enthusiastic response you have received. I am up to my tenth page, so far, and my goal is to finish at least 20. Are there 20 pages in an album? And we are trying to do 500 albums? Wow, that’s a lot of pages!
It is lovely to have all those shops and suppliers donating………..scrappers, you rock!!
Hi Sarah — just wanted you to know that I’m doing a few LOs to send — just need to know where would be best for you? straight to you or to one of the drop-offs as I live in a VERRRRY isolated place I have to post no matter what.
I have a link to your blog up on my blog, and have posted about this on the forum I’m involved in too.
This is SUCH the coolest thing to be doing, you are clearly one of the nicest people in the world and you deserve a medal.

HI Sara
This is a fantastic idea that you have come up with but a MAJOR task. They will truly be appreciated by the families I’m sure. I own a small store in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria. We will hold a scrap night to put together at least one album maybe 2 and will get them to a drop off point by the due date.

Hi Sarah
I’ve completed 14 LOs and will be dropping them off at The Scrapbook Scene tomorrow. You seem to have had a fantastic response from the scrapbooking community, but if you need anymore, please let us know. Thanks again for organising all this. Cheers, Angela
Hi Sarah
I think this is a wonderful idea. i was notified about this via my local scrapping store, Paper Stash in Mount gambier, and have posted a link to you site on my facebook page, so hopefully that will spread the word a bit further.
I will be starting on some layouts for you tomorrow.
Keep up the good work!! 🙂
Hi, Read about your idea on a forum. Great idea and a couple of us would like to contribute some layouts. We don’t live near any of the drop off points, so could you let us know where we can post them to.
Hi Sarah,
We just discovered this wonderful thing you are doing for those affected by the fires. We own an online store and we would love to be involved. Could you please email us so we can figure out how we can help.
Thanks,
Jen G. 🙂
Could you please email us: info@scrappindipity.com.au and let us know your postal address please.
I hope to include some stock to give away along with the layouts as I’m sure some of the victims would have been crafters themselves and would appreciate some stickers etc to play with 🙂
Hi, Could you please re-email me the address to post layouts too – I seem to have deleted your email and I have our contribution packed ready to send.
Thanks
Hi Sarah,
I know you are a busy lady, but could you please email me the address these all need to be sent to ? thank you

Hi Sarah,
By now you should have received a package with some layouts and some goodies for the other donations. I hope they arrived safely.

A shame we didn’t find out about this a bit earlier, but every little bit helps, so I hope the extra goodies and stocks can be put to good use.
