….and an absolute MOUNTAIN of washing, but that’s what holidays are all about aren’t they?
Melbourne was on Stage 5 water restrictions, so I decided to bring home most of the washing rather than do it all down there. We haven’t been on any water restrictions at all, which makes us very lucky indeed, but now that I look at the pile, I wish the washing fairy would come on over and do it all for me! lol
I managed to pick up some vile tummy bug while I was down there (thanks Josh!) and I have spent the last two days you-know-where. I am over the worst of it now, though, thank goodness.
The week we spent in Mlby was a good one, camped out in my BIL’s little house – 8 kids and 4 adults – eek! We had a very busy week and the kids had a ball catching up with their cousins. I managed to get down to the Mornington Peninsula for a visit to a scrapping shop called “Paper Squared” where I managed to blow a considerable amount of my spending money. Then went to the outlets in Nunawading and did the same there – mind you, before you freak out, I managed to clothe all of my kids in Pumpkin Patch for the next two years at least for just on $200. So I was pretty happy with that result! That 200 smackaroons bought two pairs long pants, two sets shorts, 6 tee shirts for the boys, and 3 pairs of pants, a pair of pj’s and 4 tees for Hannah. Bargain, I reckon. I LOVE Melbourne shopping!
Christmas Day was spent with DH’s family, as was Boxing Day. Both were ok. Freezing to start with but got a whole lot warmer. Don’t get me started on the SIL. I could quite happily have strangled her. But the rest of the day(s) went very well.
Here are some happy snaps of the trip – I managed to drop my camera with the long lens on it early in the week and had to do some fast fixing before it would work properly again, but all is well now, thank goodness!
So that was the Mornington Peninsula Beaches and one of HB on Chrissy Day.
Here are some of the Melbourne Zoo, which we did on Boxing Day and it was unreal.
and my fave pic of the week – I wish it could go onto Funniest Home Vids or something similar!
There are plenty more pics but that will do for now – I need to go have a bit of a lie down.
All in all we did over 3000 kms on the trip and the kids were awesome the whole time. A bit of forward planning and a huge amount of colouring books and we were set to travel the whole country! lol
Love to all of you and a special Happy Birthday to my sister, Flick, and to my bro Andy and his wife Horace, will you PLEASE pop out that baby already!! lol
Happy New Year everyone!
