During the Christmas season, when all the ornaments are out on display I often go a little bit mental imagining all the different ways you can use the ornaments for scrapping.
One of the more popular ornaments this season was little mirrors or frames – little shabby chic miniatures that hung on the tree. I couldn’t resist making this altered poject from one of them…..
WHat you need:
1 frame ornament (mine was a small gold frame from Target cost $3)
small piece of scrapping paper
interesting stamp (I used Hero Arts “Winged Heart”)
Black Stazon ink
mounting squares
Aquarelle (watercolour) pencils or paints.
Stencil knife or small scissors.

Step One:
Using your Stazon ink, stamp the image TWICE onto your scrap paper.

Step Two:
Cut the first stamped image the same size as the hole in the frame (if it’s a thin piece of paper you may need to back it with some card).
Cut the second image out completely from the background.

Step Three:
Use your aquarelle pencils or watercolour paints to hand colour the two images. Allow 10 minutes drying time. Ink the outer edges with an old scuzzy ink pad to add “age”.

Step Four:
Stick some mounting squares on the back of the cut out image and then adhere directly over the top of the first image. I did not put mounting squares under the wings so that I could bend them up later.
